A Poet friend of mine Dwayne Gray launched his new book Poeticolors Kalidescope. It's a journey for your mind, heart, and eyes. One of my personal favorites is "Built to Win!" a piece that speaks of the bricks of failure that are worth their weight in carrying for they held the weight of the lessons of life.
This is the second book published by Dwayne A. Gray, who is also the author of, “Mirror of Poems: Reflections”. This book is what he calls a (Callaloo) of poetry as is said in the Caribbean, or (Mixture) of poetry that expresses many different emotions and experiences. However, unlike the first book, the poems in this book are less organized or assigned to certain areas, hence the term (Callaloo), which means, mixed up. Instead, they are spread sporadically throughout. Find yourself in this kaleidoscope of colorful poems that almost anyone can relate to, where the only colors of interest are the ones of the heart; the emotional colors that everyone possesses regardless of Caste or Creed. We share different outer shades but inside our colors are the same, surfacing at different moments. Find your colors daily as they surface in “Poeticolors” and enjoy.
Dwayne Gray was born in the Caribbean in the country of Trinidad & Tobago in 1980. At the age of nineteen, he migrated to the United States of America in the year 2000 to finally reunite with his mother after twelve years, who left him and his younger sister to afford a better life for them. One year after arriving in the States he joined the US Army where he served as an infantryman for three years. He then left the military and returned after three years in 2007 as an Airborne Artilleryman and served five more years. He has been on three deployments, two of which were combat-related and one peace mission. He is now a combat Veteran a father of two girls, husband, son, and brother. However, he has been a poet since the age of thirteen when he discovered his talent. He wishes now to share with the world his talent which he has used for so long as a personal avenue of expressing the joy, pain, anger, and thrills of his life. Most of all poetry has been his secret place to escape trials in life, a way to scream and lash out. Screaming with the heart, not the voice, and lashing out through writing all the heart screams. His poetry aims at relating to anyone who reads, and shows the world that there is no experience good or bad that is new under the sun. None should feel alone in whatever feeling their heart carries.
I highly recommend supporting his work and encouraging him by looking up his work on Amazon or visit https://www.amazon.com/Poeticolors-Kaleidoscope-Dwayne-Gray-ebook-dp-B07T6LXM92/dp/B07T6LXM92/ref=mt_other?_encoding=UTF8&me=&qid=1592500963 to download his book now!
